Caption: The clock strikes 1am in Scarborough so of course it's only natural that I am out railfanning. CN L546 is reversing past Birchmount Avenue into Home Lumber to lift around a dozen cars before spotting another dozen later in the light. CN 546 this night is made up of CN 9639, CN 4798, CN 4709, and ONT 1603. 1603 is en route to the York-Durham Heritage Railway, nearly 2 weeks after the original planned delivery date. It would take another 2 weeks for 1603 to get to the YDHR and by then, "mechanical issues" had sidelined the tourist train for the season. The crew was mostly cheerful throughout the night (they might have been tipped off that railfans were going to be around) and the 4 of us shooting it enjoyed a relatively calm night of chasing.
