The calendar says it's spring but there isn't much sign of it as this westbound (likely Toronto-Windsor train 73) rolls through Bayview. If we're lucky, we'll get the FPA4 leading back east tomorrow...which would be a bonus since those units are going to be condemned to "trail-only" status in the near future when Reset Safety Control regulations come into effect. Less than a year from now, on 15 January 1990, VIA services will be cut in half and the FPA4s will be retired for good.

  1. Wish I’d got out there with a camera in the 1980′s. Looks like Snake Road bridge in the background, that plus other things in view make me pretty sure you are just east of Plains Road bridge, placing you & the train in Burlington, close to the boundary with Hamilton. Might be same applies to your other recent picture with back-to-back LRC locos.
