Caption: The Bombardier HR412 was a bit of a low selling oddball. When MLW pulled out of the locomotive business Bombardier tried to take over where MLW left off but with little success. The zHR412 basically was a follow up to the M420 but unfortunately only 11 units were ever built, with CN buying 10 of them. When CN retired all of its MLW / BBD’s many found new homes. 3 HR412’s found new homes on Railink Canada and rotated between North Bay and Brantford, until they were finally retired. Trillium would eventually pick up one of the units when They were retired. Here Railink HR412 3585, former CN sits in Brantford yard between assignments on July 15, 1999.
