Caption: The 2837 is bringing up the rear of the oil train empties as it passes over the east leg of the wye at Bretville Jct. It's destination of Kinder Morgan is only a couple of miles south down the Camrose Sub. The main subject is the bridge span being passed over. It still sports an old CN logo (with "courtesy and service") and the clearance is reported in feet and inches. Myself, I can remember seeing this span back in the seventies when coming home from Ft. Sask. Reading on the CNRHA website, which has some photos and info on this and other bridges like this one, it can probably be safe to say this span has been here since the early sixties (before the change to the CN noodle era). As can be seen, the other spans have been changed on the west bound lane of the Yellowhead Hwy. How much longer till this one needs replacing? I love the wooden fence along the side.

Very nice Larry. I drove under this bridge when I was in Edmonton in mid-July and thought of a shot but then forgot about it I was only there a week and for work. Did what I could for railfanning but man that place is a jungle of busy rail lines! I was impressed with the business.
Thanks Kevin. This silly photo was much harder than it appeared. To many things in the area and on the span that throw shadows. Then to have a unit on the bridge and no automobiles underneath. Finally, a sunny morning, in this monsoon summer we are having. If you took any photos during your week here, I look forward to seeing them.

@L Parks: I have lots of cool shots but not sure if they can pass on here. Didn’t get lucky with lighting/timing plus I didn’t know the area well so I didn’t know the good spots. I found a place west of the city that was alright. I also got a 5-pack of SD40s including wide cab ones! Lots of trains there!
