That’s my ride to the 2019 Elmira Maple Syrup Festival!! Just before 9am on the first Saturday of April (which is usually the day Elmira hosts its annual Maple Syrup Festival), the Waterloo Central Tourist Train is seen paused just north of the Farmers Market Road crossing in North Waterloo and passengers walking down Waterloo Central’s actually new freshly paved platform at the Market who will soon board the train and from there, the train will take them and mysel to the festival!

    Did they paint the passenger cars recently? I can’t recall seeing them in that scheme before.

    Nice scene Graydon. Riding the train would have been better than trying to find a parking spot in Elmira!

    @cn5248, I checked with a WCR volunteer resonantly and he confirmed yes, they were repainted last year.

    Thank you Kevin and Jay and Jay you are right about that! traffic on highway 85 could be a nightmare and us on the train are so relived we’re not in it wow Kevin, which Train did you take? I’ve been coming since 2017 with my dad and tried to grab pictures of the train each year. Only this year I was lucky enough to have some sun out in the morning so I could grab a decent shot!
