TH41 is pictured here heading back towards Adams Yard after doing some work in the "Far East" of Hamilton's industrial area. The track around this area is joint CN and CP, with customers being served by both. In fact, CN crews were working at the crossing at Burlington Street just south of here when I took this shot. It took me a while to figure out what this trackage is specifically known as, and a sincere thank you to everyone who helped out. I owe the remainder of this paragraph to people other than myself. This area was formerly occupied by Stelco's #2 Rod Mill, and the names for the tracks have stuck. It is my understanding that TH41 is coming off of the Rod Mill Runaround, and the Rod Mill Main Line is the track in the foreground. When the Rod Mill was closed, the land was purchased by the Hamilton Port Authority and the facility torn down. The rail infrastructure was however left in place. The Port turned the area into an industrial park, and Yellowline Asphalt, Crawford Rail Products and Parkland Terminals all utilize rail service here. I believe it was Yellowline Asphalt who CP was serving on this particular day. The grain bins in the background to the right are part of the G3 Terminal on Eastport Drive, which opened in September 2017.

  3. The green building in the background is the former Stelco guard shack.. still covered in Stelco signs.
