Caption: TERRA TRANSPORT TWILIGHT. Twilight has fallen in more ways than one on TerraTransport Extra 919 West as the narrow gauge freight heads westward through the scenic Waterford Valley of St. John's. Not only is the sun setting on this all container train but also the entire operation of the Newfoundland Railway. In less than three months, this MBS train and all that followed it on the 547 mile mainline would cease to run after September 30, 1988. Thirty years ago, when this this scene was captured, photographers such as myself were filled with a sense of sadness, knowing that they were witnessing something that would be lost forever.
