Caption: Taken with my new DSLR!
432-07 crosses Yorkshire St. in Guelph with 36 cars. Today's consist was auto-racks from Toyota in Cambridge, picked up at Kitchener, some gondolas loaded at Gerdeau in Guelph, picked up at Kitchener, and Potash cars from Agrium at Kelly's, near mile 106 Guelph Sub.
I didn't know it, but I had just missed a GO test train. Metrolinx has wanted to add 2 GO extra GO trains each way on the Kitchener line. The train apparently departed Georgetown westbound at 0700h, and departed Kitchener at 0800h for the return to Georgetown.

The gondolas were actually empty Russell Metal gons from CP Kitchener, originally interchanged to CP loaded with structural steel…Gerdau generally uses the rotary dump high side gons.

As much as I like your photo, Jacob, it depresses me that the line is going to be nothing but orange, orange and more orange if it isn’t already. Heck, you can find orange all over the country.

@RLK2211; I thought it was weird Getdeau might be using regular gons. Thanks for clarifying. I remember seeing gons like this along the north spur filled with logs, until the log flats started popping up. We did the log operation change from gons to flats?
@Mooney; I agree, I miss the wide variety of paint schemes on the GEXR. Like the old GEXR green & cream, or the green and yellow 4046, and of course the red and gray GPs. Even the GATX/GSCX blue was nice. The orange units looks awful when they get grimy every now and then, but on bright sunny days, the orange just can’t be beat.
