Caption: Strictly for nostalgia buffs, this image of tranquility is hard to believe considering Concord is now a sprawling industrial region of Vaughan, Ont. The old board and batten station stood along the CN Newmarket sub. trackage, (just N of Hwy 7) which had been Grand Trunk and before that, Northern Railway of Canada. Today this route is the Barrie Line GO service, having being taken over from CN by Metrolinx in 2009. I have been informed that the old station was removed in 1978.

Built around 1893, according to the CNR in Ontario site, it was demolished circa 1978. There is chance the surrounding area (this site and the now-demolished Concord Floral greenhouses) might become a Highway 7 transportation hub with a possible new GO station here. Rumours…
It’s a good catch, Arnold. Another station that has been forgotten.
