Stopped at CP's MacTier station on crew change, a GP38-2 leads 5 SD40-2s southward. Units are 3063, 5477, 5478, 5479, 5949 and 5999. Of interest are the three in numerical order; part of a series demoted to "B" status, cabs stripped and windows painted out. The first two retired in 2005 and went to Progressive Rail, the 5479 retired in 2003 and went to Brazil in 2007. The last two presumably stored now, or in line for dismantling in CP's ECO program,(they are still on the roster in the 2016 CTG) leaving the leader as the last unit to soldier on.

  1. wow!!!
It was hard enough catching one of those “B” units, and somehow you bag three of them on one train. You sure have good luck :)

  2. Nice catch on those.
