So this takes us back to summer of 1989, and I am across the tracks and a little bit west of Howard Rd., which was once a reasonable place to meet and watch trains. That is, until the third track went in......... In this view, VIA 6518, I think #77, as it is late day and this train is too dinky to be #75, speeds by in perfect sunlight. The activity on the left is the beginnings of what was to be the new yard leads for the yard expansion and future Aldershot GO facilities. Before all this change came about, it was like a country setting thru here.

  1. Nice Classic VIA consist!

  2. Wasn’t this the approximate location of where the old Aldershot station stood for the CN?

  3. Not sure, Todd, but I thought it stood opposite the Cold Storage plant down by the Waterdown bridge there.
