Caption: Slow weekday afternoons in the Union Station Rail Corridor were always good for a few trains: some Lakeshore West-East runs, a few VIAs, and "The Bramalea Flip" afternoon Georgetown-line service between Brampton (Bramalea) and Toronto. Here, GO Transit F59PH 521 ducks under Spadina Avenue, departing Union Station on the tail end of afternoon train #263 to Bramalea station. She will be back later with #266, and then depart around 3pm again on #281 for the downtown Brampton station.
Newly minted from GMD in July 1988, GO 521 ran in Toronto commuter service for two decades until retirement and sale to RB Leasing (RBRX) in 2009, eventually ending up on NC Dot (North Carolina) as cab control unit 105.
The Toyota on Front auto dealership and the National Post newspaper building in the background have both since been demolished and redeveloped with new condos.
