The steel portal under the bridge is interesting. Presumably it’s to keep things from falling on to the trains and the linear induction rail.
You are correct Eric. The SkyTrain attracts people who think it is nice to dump on it. I noticed a wood pallet on one and that would have cause a wee problem if hit by the train.
The adjacent rail line (CNR/Via/Amtrak/BNSF) doesn’t require it as it is a low traffic line with manned heavy equipment as appose to driverless, lighter equipment every 2-3 mins on the Skytrain Line. – Tom
