Caption: September 18, 2018 marked the end of the Southern Ontario Railway era running from Nanticoke to Paris. The SOR ran one final 597 in a daylight move with RLHH 3404 and 35 tank cars. It was a bittersweet train to photograph as the SOR is the railway that I started watching as a young kid and have grown up watching the changes to the line through the Railtex to Rail America and finally G&W ownership. The RTC called this train "CN 597" as they entered the Dundas Sub at Brant Junction, but to me it'll always be RLHH 597. Thanks goes out to Steve Host, Jamie Knott, Peter Duns and James Gardiner for the updates throughout the afternoon which allowed me to get the shot at Paris after work.

Fair Thee Well.
Welcome, I owe you for a few of my shots also bud. It was great teamwork. I didn’t live close but I captured more than enough of it.
Great shot! I wish I could’ve seen this but I live too far and had school????. Hope to catch the final 432/431 run of GEXR as it runs through my area.
One quick question though, anyone aware of what’s been going on with the Burford lately and if it’s still in service? Just something I was curious of and if Ingenia is still being serviced by rail as it seemes unlikely that CN will be wanting to service a one customer spur line.
You should be in school young man, not skipping lol. I taught all day and got this on my way home from school! LOL
The Burford was served last week by the SOR, not big yet this week. But I’d think they’ll last on the Burford until December
I’m told the last run was Monday last week, as the contract for Ingenia to Brantford had expired. What happens next? Who knows.. rumours are out there..
