Seen looking across from the point on Mackenzie Bay along the shore of Lake Superior we see the second load of rail from the Kinghorn crossing over the mouth of the Mackenzie River. The white Operation Lifesaver caboose following CN 5713 and CN 2522 stands out against the stark and dull trees of a late northern Ontario, while the loaded train of rail just seems to blend in. Not the same effect as a mixed freight loaded with paper, lumber and the like but it will have to do. Rail removals crews would reach this location by July 2009 and have since made things much safer for area fisherman who like to fish beneath the bridge. They may not have the worry of trains to contend with anymore however when those that like to load 5 gallon buckets of smelt up in the springtime, its a long walk out without the support of the smooth rail to drag the heavy pails back to their vehicles.
