Seeing everyone in the railfan community was out yesterday and it was a nice day; I'll hereby answer the call for photos of this huge 11,000 ft train by offering up this example, some a little different. I like to go where it is quiet. So this location at mile 59, we see #246 in a brief clearing just leaving the 'Desjardins' stretch as it rolls toward Hamilton. Second unit CP 9767. The sun was in and out, mostly hazy.
I would imagine Guelph Jct had its share of fans, and Newman Rd; and there sure were a bunch when I passed by Kinnear !!! Hopefully a good day for all. Nice too the train was only an hour or so later than advertised.

  1. :-)

  2. Glad you made it out. Also glad you weren’t the trespasser around the corner from you because the CP cop was out lookin’ for him!

  3. I’m a good boy. I turned over a new leaf many years ago. :o )
I heard them calling about a trespasser and I thought sighting was between Concession 8 and 7 as the train was going south.
Put a train like that out there as bait and you’re bound to catch somebody!

  4. Not long after we shot at Concession 8, Arnold, I heard a trespasser call for Mile 60.14 I believe it was.

  5. Hunt St overpass? Genius!!

  6. Is THAT where I was? Thanks, Dave. :o ) All the time I have gone there I never knew the street name.
