Searchlight signal, a grey nose with beaver shield and a consist of boxes, tanks, hoppers and flats almost put me into a " back to the future " scenario on this dull cold Friday afternoon. Advice that 421 had 7016 as the lead had me out the door in short order. Heading towards the Mactier Sub, thoughts of lighting were establishing and eliminating spots until the RTC advised 421 he'd be meeting 112 at Palgrave. Definitely the first spot would be near the south switch as 421 would have to stop for the Conductor to get the self-restore switch before pulling into the siding. The decision paid-off. Got this and a few other shots before he headed to Spence for some work.

  1. Steve, not only a grey nose + beaver emblem and search light signal, you also included the pot light just before the switch. Good to see you are still out taking great pictures ! Back to the past, the way the future is developing, the search light signal will one day be replaced by LED. Thanks very much.

  2. Thanks. In past years I got stung too many times with ” it will be there tomorrow “. Guess what, it’s gone. As you know too, just get ‘em while they’re there.
