Saturday at 10:30 and the regular crew was close to home. A few miles ahead will be Gibbons, the final town that might have some cars to pickup. The pair of GMD-1's up at the front had 20 hoppers in tow. Sunday's, for this crew was a day off, Monday's, saw them return with tanks of fuel for the air base. Photo taken at mile 23.8.

  1. Nice. I like seeing those shots of the van looking toward the headend.

  2. The type of car really helps in the making of this kind of photo. Cylindrical hoppers are a natural. There were ores cars, I believe, in the Ontario area and cement cars here in Edmonton. These cars had the little wheels that stood up in the air. They made for neat looking trains. Lastly, the CP ballast hoppers look really cool as a train also. :-)

  3. How crazy is that, I close up my comment above, refresh the first page and up on the banner is the exact “little wheel” photo I was thinking of. Really weird. Here is the link http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=35396
