Sandwiched between these CN SD75s is  Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range (DMIR)#403, now a SD40-3; a rare treat in Southern Ontario. I saw this unit go by when in Dundas, and gave chase just because I may not see one along this line again. And I never did, other than units done over in CN. I would imagine they are all now sporting their CN jackets, and according to CTG there are but 9 left of the original 20 in this series. The DMIR was acquired by CN two years before this photo was taken. Power is CN 5796, DMIR 403 and CN 5729.

  1. you got lucky, 403 is the only DMIR SD40T-3 not in CN paint! despite that I love em in both schemes
