Running southward, halfway between Hamilton's Kinnear Yd and Welland, train #246 is about to cross Grimsby Rd 10. Of course it is one of the ugliest of ugly days, I keep insisting (for me) that is when the most interesting trains run. Failing that, in the night. This day was brutal. But, in a way, so was the train. :o) Despite it all, a lashup such as this, CEFX 1036, CP 9681, BR&W 1888 and CN 3026 was worth the catch.
The BRW is Black River and Western. Why it was along, I do not know. Unit on the way home to New Jersey.

  1. What the…. heck???? Wow

  2. You are right indeed. I got rather wet at Newman Road. Nice shot my friend,

  3. The BDRV 1888 is exCP 8249. It was retired in 2015 and finally sold at auction later in 2016 to J&L Consulting of Langley BC.
They resold it to the Black River group in late 2017 and it was painted by Diesel Electric Supply, Sudbury before shipment to its new home.
    Great catch otherwise !

  4. Thanks, BEM’r. That explains the shiny new paint.
