Running from Fort Erie to Toronto, train #432 is photographed from then almost new Walkbridge over the tracks at the Royal Botanical gardens. Power is CN 9571, with 3 GP9s trailing, 4513, 4577 and 4567. I did not take a car count but did note the caboose was #79395.

  1. Oh the memories your pics bring back my friend!!

  2. Thats what I like to hear…no matter what the Snake says………..

  3. Bi-levels with no screening protection for the autos they will carry. That always catches my eye. When times were a little more simple. :-)

Oh yes Arnold. I should mention your fact of the number of yard cabs, 210. If they spent $10,000 (a conservative guess, perhaps) on each box car they converted into a yard cab, that’s 2 million bucks. Presumably, they did not expect cabooses to become extinct as quick as they did.

  4. LOL@AW

  5. Apparently CN 9571 later became MBTA Commuter Rail GP40MC #1131. I much prefer how it looked in your photo Arnold.

  6. Hey..there is no Snake bashing..unless Snake is present.

  7. Based on the usual 432, it’s huge!!
