Caption: Running about 20 minutes late on September 1st, 2021 @ 15:37 ADT, VIA #15 (the westbound "Ocean") passes through Oxford Jct, MP 46.9, CN Springhill sub with the VIA 6415 and 6414 back-to-back in charge.
John, very nice picture, nice composition and colour. Good to see the Ocean running again, even if it is only once a week. Have been tracking the Ocean over the last weeks and noticed it continues running late. Do you have any information on why ? Was this train an stainless steel consist ? It looks to me that the first 3 or 4 cars after the baggage car could be Chateau series sleepers. We’re there any Renaissance cars in the consist ? Hopefully one day you could post a picture of the eastbound consist. Many thanks for posting, John
@railwayguy The Renaissance cars are out of shot around the bend. They are always on the east end of the train. In the picture, the two locomotives (same ones as last week, 6415 and 6414), followed by Baggage Car, Chateau sleeper for the crew, three more Chateaus, HEP1 coach…then out of frame one more HEP1 coach followed by the Renaissance cars. On Monday the eastbound met train A407 at Oxford Jct. They ran the eastbound through the siding while A407 was stopped on the mainline, further delaying the passenger train. Last week “The Ocean” was affected by freight diversions over the Newcastle sub in New Brunswick after a potash train derailed on the Napadogan sub. Here’s a shot of the eastbound on Monday. https://www.flickr.com/photos/148537131@N07/51414762300/in/album-72157719060065123/
