Caption: RLHH 3049 is on the point again this day powering the regular five car ballast train and rounding the curve (track also serves as the west leg of the Caledonia wye)on the main dropping ballast while working toward a westerly direction. This photo is a mate to #26251 crossing the Grand River albeit different loads and days. The ballast team (two on each side) started this second drop of the day just north of Sutherland Street at the start of the leg and are now seen clearing Orkney Street, Caledonia. During this 2-week ballast venture, RLHH 3049 can expect to be called for double duty and harnessed when needed on SOR's daily nocturnal freight. In fact, I hear the whistle from my open window for RLHH 597 blowing for King Street, Hagersville as I sign off 9:50 p.m.
