Reportedly filling in for an ailing CN unit. SW900 SSRX 911 began life as Waterloo #2 (WLO was controlled by Illinois Central). Before joining the S&S sales and leasing company it was used by General Electric, which also seems odd as GE constructed numerous industrial switcher models long before getting into full scale locomotive production. The unit is seen resting outside of CN's transload facility in Hamilton.

  1. 911 is visable at Parkdale on street view right now. So CN 7304, 911′s temp replacement, is not on the CN roster. So it’s run by a 3rd party/contractor but with the CN noodle which is appropriate being a CN facility. Am I correct? Thanks for the reminder/follow up photo Marcus.

  2. 911 is not at Parkdale anymore. It left in the fall – not long after this photo was taken. 7304 returned when 911 left. 911 was around for less than months, the same length as 7304′s absence.

  3. Less than two* months

  4. It’s back in Sarnia apparently at one of the many facilities in the area.

LDS loaned it to the Steel Centre while 7304 underwent repairs. Street view is never current :)
