Caption: Privately owned GE 70-tonner 1556, leased to the Waterloo Central at the time, is shown departing Waterloo's faux-station for another trip to St. Jacobs. The 1965 diesel looks out of place beside the modern Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics building. Fear not, because this scene has changed dramatically since the photo was taken. The siding the train is on is now gone, and a double-track LRT line curves through here. Waterloo Central no longer runs this far south. The faux-station, built by an earlier attempt at a tourist train operation still stands, and is now a Visitor and Heritage Information Centre. I assume with the arrival of the former OSR S13s on the Waterloo Central old 1556 was no longer needed and was returned to its owner. It is now leased to and behind the fences of Babcock and Wilcox in Cambridge, which apparently has changed their name to BWXT Canada Ltd.
