Caption: Prior to the start of GO Transit service in May 1967, GO's GP40TC units were tested in CN freight service in southern Ontario. Here we see "CN" 601 (later GO 601, 9801, and 501) leading GP9 4597, two 3600 series RS18s, and SW1200RS 1317 through Bayview with a train from Fort Erie or Niagara Falls in late 1966.

i wonder what the walking bridge looked like in 1966, my dad used to race cars on the old snake road back in the day
Folks we corrected white balance on this one – the scan was colour cast.
Doug is standing on the embankment for this image, not on the bridge.
The old bridge was wood-planked with iron supports, one of those with the hump in the center to give clearance for the tracks. Not very much room to stand on it, but since vehicles would not be moving very fast, it was somewhat safe if you paid attention. I probably have this train in my notes, if in fact I saw it. Would guess it’s 466 from Fart Eerie with those trucks for the Ford plant.
But then, what do I know….
