  1. This must have been really rare at the time?

  2. From what I remember;approximate maybe 3per month.Had to keep your ears open. Seasons Greetings by the way.

  3. Seasons greetings. What I meant is SOO power in the TH&B era seemed rare… this seems about that time!

But by the late 90′s it was anything goes..

  4. Soo power was pretty normal on that train from what I remember.Maybe others can fill us in on other power. This power only came to Hamilton and then the TH&B power went used.

  5. Ahhhhh right… thank you for explaining.

  6. The power for the “Rock” train on the Galt Sub was supposed to be 3 SD-40-2s with the suitable dynamic brake capacity for the hill south out of Waterdown. I was on the very first one they ran & we had 3 pages of special instructions specific to that train. Other suggested to me when we left the yard office, that they hoped for my family’s sake my life insurance was in good standing. Of course, nothing untoward happened and many such trains were run. This was before the big GEs arrived.
