Pool 5 the La Salle is about to cross Lake Road Bowmanville, in this May 1965 photo. A few years earlier Bowmanville was a regular stop for No. 5 but not in 1965. The Pool Agreement will soon end too. The well maintained track and clean right of way are typical of CN in the 1960s. I'm not sure if this was still the Oshawa Sub. or had been changed to Kingston Sub. by 1965.

    Everywhere was ‘well-maintained’ at one time, wasn’t it, Doug?? And then some stuffy shirt spoke..”What are we doing this for? There is no money in it”. And the the RoWs became a haven for garbage, weeds and empty RR water bottles…………
