Pity the poor fellow standing on the front of EMD SW1200RS #1289 on this winter's day.

This image was taken circa 1960. There was quite a bit of damage on the original slide. I hope that you'll agree that state-of-the-art digital scanning and a touch of Photoshop has restored the image to acceptable standards.

Del's sister, Gloria, recently mailed me a package of Del's writings and historical Pembroke notes. Turns out he had a rather mischievous sense of humour. If he were still with us, I'm confident that he'd be delighted that his images are being viewed and enjoyed.

  1. Picture is very nice. Thanks for the restoration. I like the outside braced boxcar .

  2. My privilege and honour, Sir!

  3. It’s awesome that you’re carrying on Mr. Rosamond’s legacy and showing us his collection. I love seeing them, thank you for uploading!

  4. Thank you, Docta! My reward is knowing that people are enjoying these images. The real credit belongs to the Rosamond family. Without their gracious permission to post on RPca, this collection would simply be sitting in a box. I have forwarded your kind comments to Gloria.

  5. Remarkable!! What else can I say?
