Pinch me. I must be dreaming. Defying all odds, CMQ SD40-2F 9020 curves into Welland, Ont., with a surreal lashup including sister SD40-2F 9022, CP 8013, 7023 and TRE 120. Sometimes seeing really is believing.

  1. Now that is the perfect position for a great shot. You lucky stiff !!!

  2. Perfect.

  3. Wow! That has to be the lash up of the year!

  4. Nice one!!

  5. I agree with Marcus, and this very well could be the best of the year and we aren’t even at the half way point yet. I think this shot is tremendous. Shadow, cloud, farm equipment…just a right on shot.

  6. Was going to post my shot with 9023 leading, but why bother now. Very nice.

  7. Where is 9023 now? I want to catch it at Bartlett Toronto. Anyone know a time frame?

  8. Brad: As I type this at 1358 it is just into Kinnear leading #247.

  9. Thanks Mr Mooney. On my way to Bartlett!

  10. You are? You should have a reasonable amount of time. Good luck.

  11. They may have terminated in Lambton yard.

  12. For an image of this CMQ 9023 as it was in CP paint, check out RP photo #36386. (Bayview)

  13. We finally had to go to Lambton to catch it and it was lifting off as soon as we got there round 10pm. I ran out of battery anyway. ;) Thanks the heads up Mr Mooney!

  14. Thanks for the kind words, Arnold, Matt, Marcus, Dave et all! I’ve been railfanning since 2004 and this is certainly one of the coolest lashups I’ve seen during my time trackside.
