Great photo. It’s sad that this line is no longer in running anymore, which makes this photo that much better.
*****Sad too that there seems to be not much of anything of supreme interest running any more, let alone the demise of so much trackage. To me, the ‘olden era’ peaked/ended in the early 2000s.
Thanks for your input.
Did you get much hassle shooting on the bridge? Even though this is before 9/11, I’d imagine stopping on the bridge wouldn’t be approved of too much by the officials
Well, guess what, Docta? I am not on any bridge. I was over on the American soil looking for a spot where I could get a clear shot of the RR bridge on some cliff jutting out from along the parkway. I found a spot, but it was so tight that I hung onto a tree to keep my balance as I leaned out. Either that, or cut some tree down, and that would have had me in the clink for sure. )
I honestly didn’t even think of taking it from the Parkway…maybe it’s cause I haven’t taken it on foot. I thought this was only able with a good zoom from the bridge.
Great picture, love the colour of the Lower Rapids, brings back good memories, could have sworn you took it from the Rainbow Bridge, but then that would be to tame for you Mr. Mooney, should have known you would be more adventurous hanging onto a tree at the edge of the gorge !
John
Thanks John. If you ever venture over to the USA via the Rainbow bridge, you will see the rail bridge was a long way off.
