The bridge, which has already been nicknamed the 'banana bridge' (thx Delic), is an interesting design employing laminated components. The bridge it replaced was of a far more common, traditional design. What you can't see is the north (left) end of the bridge is at the end of Dickinson Road, forming the bottom of a Tee intersection with Marsh Road. This is no different than the previous bridge, except that the angle is too steep and the span essentially a hump (think of a banana), deterring motorists approaching from that end taking a run at it. No problem in dry weather, but in its first winter, I saw more than a few vehicles turned back by it's snow or ice covered surface, unable to crest the hump.
