Part 1: After seeing countless shots from the Niagara region, in particular NF and how much of a railroad town it once was, it was always a location I have neglected considering its fall from Grace. 1501 was back in town doing its job along the Grimsby and Stamford sub these last few days. I personally enjoy seeing older equipment being refurbished and brought back into service for whatever reason. I decided to camp out at the wye in Clifton, hoping they would run down to the station, I got lucky. Seen is 1501 parked next to the Niagara Falls station on a rather bitter day where it would eventually tie down. I remember even back as a kid, 07, passing by the yard next to Great Wolf Lodge, hard to imagine that it ever even existed.

  1. Carson, of the various pictures you took of 1501 on Friday, this is my favourite ! Love the old ex-CNR railway station and you have neatly composed the picture to include both 1501 and the beautiful historical station building. Although not nearly as busy as it used to be, the fact that I can still arrive on a weekend GO train at this favourite station is most heartening. Did 1501 stay very long at the station ? Thanks very much for posting. John

  2. John, I think it spent the night of Oct 29 there. The date of this may be off a day.

  3. Nice series on the 1501. Well done, Carson.

  4. Nit pick. Subdivision and City are incorrect.
