Only a few months old if that, Canadian Pacific HS5-class "DTC" switcher 18 is shown by the station at Goderich in 1959. CP ordered 14 of these little Cat-powered Diesel Torque Converter siderod switchers built by CLC of Kingston Ont. for local light switching duties across the system, and unit 18 was outshopped in May of 1959.

Sister DTC 17 was the regular unit assigned to Goderich since it was new in May of 1959, so 18 here may have been a substitute unit sent out while 17 was off getting maintenance or repairs done elsewhere.
