I love working the “sweeps”. They were fun to operate. Great little pullers in the yard. A bit “slippery” on the main with a heavy train, but unique for sure

What was the idea behind the Sweeps? Was it salvage from wrecked 1200′s and GP9′s?

Can anyone shed light on these transfers? where did they run to/from? how often?

Interesting 1388 has the newest scheme but with spark arrestors suggesting before the rebuild program.

@stephen I believe this transfer was from Aldershot to Stuart yard just like the transfer from Aldershot to Oakville.
