Gotta wonder about the ridership on this train.
Most days, on either the Muskeg Mixed or this train, just a few people (less than 10) was typical. I also get the feeling, when reading various sources, a good part of the riders were people interested in riding a bygone method of travel but was still to be found in this form.
Also, according to some people I met,who had ridden the train a lot, ridership was higher north of Lac La Biche as the roads didn’t reach a lot of towns between there and Waterways.
That confirms what I have come across. Roadways have improved greatly in that area north of Lac La Biche since then. Still waiting as to whether this whole Ft. McMurray thing will be worth it. Not an easy product to market or environmentally friendly but it does employ a lot of people. Time will tell.
Great to see another photo! Awesome shot….
Thanks Todd. Your CP 6256 is a sweet light shot also, been back a few times for a look.
