Caption: One for the 70's automotive enthusiast: TTC Peter Witt streetcar 2766 trundles down Dundas Street in Tour Tram service, during a warm bustling Summer afternoon in downtown Toronto. This telephoto image was shot looking west on Dundas from Bay towards University Avenue in the distance (the big brown building was originally the Ontario Veterinary College, later The Province of Ontario Savings Branch).
Street signs, many advertising Chinese businesses, jut out from streetside storefronts along Dundas Street. This area used to be Toronto's old Chinatown, but due to nearby development of the new City Hall in the 60's (that expropriated many buildings to the south along Elizabeth Street in "The Ward") many of the Asian-run businesses moved to a "new" Chinatown focused around Spadina and Dundas.
