Caption: One for Fathers Day. Here I am in 1979 as a skinny 16 year old beside my Dad at the Calgary station in front of a boiler equipped GP-9 parked as protection power. My Dad grew up in two houses beside the tracks in Peterborough and later an apartment nearby the line to Lindsay, so he was always a railfan. He left the photography work to my mother and brother as cameras seemed to spite him. This was the last big trip we did before my brother and I headed out on our own into the world. All these years later I still think it was one of our best.
