Once the closing of the CP Ottawa Valley line (Chalk River) was announced, that meant stack trains running east of Sudbury were going to be nothing but a memory. This memory captured at the village of Warren, just east of Sudbury with CP 5995, 5975 and 5736 is a prime example. Traffic now runs south to Toronto thru Parry Sound and east from there.

  1. I really like this photo for some reason. Hmm…

  2. Good One, Warren!!! (Now don’t go snitching the roadsign)

  3. Haha I actually stopped by here, when I was driving back to the GTA after my summer up North. Unfortunately there was no theft, but I managed to get a few pictures in front of various signage in town!

  4. While I did shoot a pair of OVR trains at Coniston in my Sudbury visits, this is one of the lines I regret not spending more time on.

  5. The three dual flags units… in good condition make the shot… in my opinion of course ;)

  6. Excellent shot you have here Mr. Mooney, a poignant reminder of the passage of time to be sure. I have to agree with Host as well, that matching consist is quite pleasing!
