Caption: On my spring 2011 trip to the prairies, a major goal was to capture the quintessential prairie scene of a train passing a grain elevator. These iconic buildings are becoming more and more of a rarity so this was more difficult to accomplish than I had expected. Of course, my luck would have it that on my day dedicated to all things rail, storms would thwart my attempt at seeing small, light clouds float over the endless prairie, and a leased unit would be on the point of the only train we saw while it wasn't raining. The only consolation? The trailing unit, CP 9103 is now off the roster pending sale.
