Caption: On May 26, 2020 Ontario Southland Railway (OSRX) set-off M-420(W)’s 644 and 647 for interchange with CN in Guelph, Ontario. Earlier in the spring, these two units along with 641 and 646 were sold to Quebec-based shortline Chemin de fer Sartigan. All four M-420(W)’s are former BC Rail units that were built by MLW in 1973. All four units had arrived on OSR during 2003.
Here former OSR M-420(W)’s 647 and 644 are viewed spending a Sunday morning in CN’s XV yard in Guelph as they await the next CN L533, which will lift the pair for the start of their trip to Quebec.

What a beautiful yard. They applied a lot of herbicide since then and it’s clear. Still the same 70 year old ash pit ballast though.
Interesting. Looked almost like a garden railway here.
