On a quick glance this looks like a chopped-nose Algoma Central GP7, however it's actually Wisconsin Central GP7L-m 1502, ex. AC 169. The WC took over the AC on February 1, 1995, and apparently they wasted no time getting to work on the remaining GP7L-m on the Algoma Central roster. WC must have been power short, or maybe the paint booth was backed up since this unit was returned to service before getting repainted WC. It is shown here as the 2nd unit on the Agawa Canyon Tour Train at the end of the run in Sault Ste. Marie. The unit was retired in 2005.

  1. WC 1502 would be ex AC 101 nee 169, as these were rebuilt by GMD London before WC came along

  2. Right. Thank you Mr. Mercer.
