Caption: On a family vacation in the Ottawa Valley, my surprise was when we arrived in Barry's Bay to find this gem. At the time of this photo, the tracks had been removed for maybe a year or two...and the station was in the early stages of restoration (it's end use was a Tourist Information Center). This station is the last remaining of it's style along this portion of the line (originally built by the Ottawa, Arnprior & Parry Sound Railway). Many more had already been demolished at Killaloe, Wilno, Carp, etc. Today, where the tracks once were laid, is now a small park. Of note - also from the days of railroading, the water tower still stands at Barry's Bay. as it was a junction point for lines branching off to not only Renfrew, but to Pembroke as well as all points in between.
