On a day fitting the occasion, NS train 328 crosses southern Ontario for the last time. Units 9554 and 8373 pass the Ingersoll station, exercising trackage rights over Grand Trunk lines dating from March 1898. 15 years ago, CN had won the contract for Talbotville Ford traffic but it was a short lived victory--that plant closed in September 2011. The Ingersoll station itself (dating from the late 1880s) was demolished on December 7, 2020.

  1. I have lingering memories of going to the Book Rd crossing in Grimsby in the darkness and heavy fog just to watch this pass.. and the gloom certainly accelerated my melancholy feelings.

  2. I was there! Probably in the background behind the train. Also I recognize that van – Mr. Eull took us youngins to Wendys often on many a bayview trip with him and his Son :)
