Caption: On a clear day on the first of March, CP train #507 rolls west on the Galt Sub though Milton with a nice lashup of MLW's running elephant style: CP C424 4212, M630 4551, and C630M 4504. A selection of CP Rail-branded COFC and TOFC (Container On Flatcar and Trailer On Flatcar) traffic is visible on the head-end. The train has come around the curve that once hosted a diamond with CN's Milton Townline Spur/old Milton Subdivision (the pre-1965 Halton Sub realignment. Diamond removed around 1973-74) and is about to cross the Bronte Street North grade crossing.
The two trailing "Big M's" only had a few years of service left (retired in 1993 and 1991 respectively), while C424 4212 soldered on until the remaining MLW 4-motors were retired in the late 90's (retired 1997 and sold to QGRY, later resold to Buffalo Southern where it's still operating today!).

Beautiful! If I had a Time Machine this is the stuff I’d be chasing for sure!
Wow. No shortage of multimarks in this one.
A side note on the text, I was on the first westbound train to go over the removed diamond. At the time it was pulled up, we still had ABS & current of traffic on the Galt Sub west of Dixie. I was on a westbound that was the first train west in several hours. We came around the corner & saw no shine on the rails where the diamond was. As it was dark, it looked like there was rail missing. When we got close we could see the two rusty straight rails where the diamond had been. The company had yet to issue a bulletin about the change so to say we were surprised was no exaggeration.
