Caption: Okay....so this place is Arkwood, is it? I appreciate that information because I didn't know and put down Louisville, which I guess is slightly farther south-east.
Seeing some RP contributors getting credit for shooting here, I thought I had better add my name, indirectly, to the list. :o) Westbound with one car is STLH 8206 and CP 8231. The sidekick of the day, after some coaching, pulled off this not-too-bad a shot, while I elected to get close in on the action. We expected a mainline freight, you know, like a couple of SOOs up front or something. Wishful thinking I guess. And so I elected to try a "down the line" shot, and I get rewarded with this little puddle-jumper. Got a wave from a friendly engineer though; you can see me up on top of the hopper.:o)

This is awesome, Arnold. A lot to love about this shot – hard to complain about that “puddle jumper” as you call it, you up on the hopper, that loader chained up to said hopper… come on! So cool. Wish you’d posted this a few weeks earlier and I’d have changed my angle every so slightly haha. Even both had a one car local to boot, or puddle jumper, rather.
And on the place name, it’s pretty interesting there’s two unique place names (Louisville and Arkwood) for rural communities less than half a km apart. Don’t come across that all too often.
Well, Mr. Knott; I never would have thought to post this if I had not seen your offering. I was going to post eventually a shot of the switchers on their return trip, which looked a lot better, and will in future……thanks
