Oh, what the heck. It is all snow outside as I prepare this contribution, but a nice summer-time shot for the fans of 6060 will go just as well now as it would any other time.
This is CN 6060 rolling thru Bayview, coming up to the Junction with the tail end passing under the railfan's walkbridge, a popular place these days when it is warm enough.
The train is on a regular summer Wednesday run to Niagara Falls and back from Toronto. It also ran on Saturdays.
The area is triple tracked now, and I often wonder what happened to that nice wooden 'Bayview' sign. It was replaced with one of those cruddy metal ones many years ago.

  1. Some old guy probably parks his trailer on it… oh wait that was another Jct. sign… :)

  2. HAHAHAHA…….you DO have the “Reggie book” in which one of the captions referred to that Jct sign, don’t you? It stated the Canfield Jct sign was “later years he would have one of the two signs in his own collection of railroadiana. Yeah, displayed under the motorhome wheel to keep it from sinking in the mud.!

    Hilarious!!!

  3. Oops!! I meant trailer wheel. I’m getting careless in me old age.

  4. I do have the book but I didn’t know it was in print. I just remembered you telling the story.

  5. Great shot Arnold :)

  6. Just one of the large, beautiful, main line Canadian steam locos which should still be out and about the rail network today!

CNR, are you deaf? Are you listening?

  7. Very nice Arnold.

  8. I did this trip in the labor day week-end 1976 with a 30 min stop at Hamilton.

  9. Wonderful image, Arnold!

  10. There was always a lot of jostling for a spot by the open vestibule window. I think that is me hanging out of the first car!
