Caption: NS 327/328 operated daily between St. Thomas and Buffalo serving the Ford plant off Hwy 4. They ran on the CN Cayuga Sub for many years until the trestle over the Grand River in Cayuga needed major repairs and the speed restriction was 10 mph over the bridge.
In the early 90's NS was rerouted off the Cayuga onto the Talbot Sub to London and onto the CN Dundas Sub to Hamilton and the CN Oakville Sub through Hamilton Yard and onto the CN Grimsby Sub to Clifton and onto the CN Stamford Sub through Port Robinson and onto Fort Erie as run-through train.
During the time of the Conrail being merged by NS & CSX, there was a lot of foreign-run through power seen on NS trains, and what was available made its way on NS 327/328
During Mon-Sat they would run with Autopart cars and Sundays they ran light power to Buffalo so they can return back to St Thomas with empty Autopart cars.
The last NS 328 ran on Jan 1, 2007, from St. Thomas to Buffalo and was handled to CN as 430/430 for a short while then Ford closed and that was the end of rail service.
