Not all that difficult to get morning light on CP here - in fact it's something I make sure to do at least a few times every year. CN on the other hand, has proved impossible until now. I was heading home from a brief chase of CP 133 and came across a light power 0700 heading towards some trackage an 0700 would usually never touch. Playing a hunch, I rolled the dice and headed straight for Windemere Basin and within moments was greeted by this scene, as were the four or five birders already on location. Turns out the previous night's 1600 wasn't able to finish their work so these guys were wrapping up the job.

  1. Nice!

  2. Thanks Steve. One of those highly elusive shots that probably in reality only means anything to a handful of people haha.

  3. The early morning sun is making the unit colours come alive. This would be a stark looking photo if taken in lunchtime sun. I’m going with this version. :-)

  4. 100% agreed Jamie. Great work and thanks for sharing.

  5. Thanks Larry. I haven’t been out at midday in months for that very reason!

Thanks Steve. Figured this one was an oddball enough for the few of us that it was worth sharing here.
