Caption: No more GP’s in Hamilton. On a late night pass by Kinnear I came upon the newly arrived GP 20C-ECO’s 2262 basking in the Kinnear office lights (which could pass for inspection lights!), tied together with two GP 38’s. The lack of a First generation GP is not surprising but saddening as Hamilton has had a long history with GP’s, starting with TH&B GP 7 number 71, the first to roll out of London’s GMD plant back in the summer of 1950. 63 years after that I stopped by Kinnear on the way to the Holiday Train and saw CP 8200 and CP 8239 perhaps the last time. Maybe CP will put a GP 9 back in Hamilton, but that would just be temporary. ( Also, I prefer the GP 9’s over the GP 20C’s but I’d love to know what everybody else thinks.)
